What the points do not cover
- You need at least CLB 4 in English or NCLC 4 in French across all four abilities to submit a Worker EOI.
- You can only apply to a worker stream after AAIP invites you. The EOI is not an application.
- AAIP also records your work permit status, your job offer's NOC code and your employer's industry code in the EOI. It uses them to target draws but awards no points for them.
- Each stream has its own eligibility rules on top of the points, for example the Alberta Opportunity Stream needs a full-time job offer from an Alberta employer.
Alberta PNP questions
Is there a minimum score to submit an Alberta Worker EOI?
No. The grid has no pass mark. You do need at least CLB 4 in English or NCLC 4 in French across all four abilities to submit, and AAIP only invites candidates it selects in a draw.
What scores has Alberta been inviting in 2026?
In the draws published on the AAIP processing page for July to September 2026, the lowest invited scores ranged from 49 for a Law Enforcement Pathway draw to 66 for an Express Entry priority-sector draw in health care. Alberta Opportunity Stream draws sat between 53 and 58. AAIP says score is not the only selection factor.
Does a job offer matter more than education or language?
On this grid the job offer group is worth up to 31 points, the largest single block. A permanent full-time Alberta offer alone is 10, a location outside Calgary and Edmonton adds 5, a rural or sector endorsement adds 6, and a regulated occupation with Alberta licensing adds 10.
Which Alberta streams use this grid?
All worker streams and pathways take candidates from the same Worker EOI pool: Alberta Opportunity Stream, Alberta Express Entry Stream, the Dedicated Health Care Pathways, the Accelerated Tech Pathway, the Law Enforcement Pathway, the Rural Renewal Stream and the Tourism and Hospitality Stream.
What is AAIP prioritizing in 2026?
Health care, technology, construction, manufacturing, aviation, agriculture and Rural Renewal Stream communities, according to the processing information page. Those sectors also show up in the draw labels.

The Score Is Not the Nomination
Stream eligibility, documents and timing decide more than the points. We check all three before you register an expression of interest.
