How OINP scores you

Ontario removed its eight former streams on June 25, 2026 and replaced them with the Ontario Workforce Priority stream, which covers job offers in every NOC TEER category plus self-employed physicians. EOIs and job offers under the former streams were withdrawn.

What the points do not cover

  • Your employer starts by registering in the OINP Employer Portal and submitting a job offer for your position. You then have 30 calendar days to register an EOI with the job offer ID. If you are invited, your employer has 14 calendar days to apply for approval of the employment position. Self-employed physicians register without a job offer.
  • With a job offer in TEER 0 to 3 you need one of: 6 months consecutive full-time in the job offer position in the last 12 months (3 months for recent Ontario graduates), 2 years cumulative in the same NOC in the last 5 years, or a licence the job legally requires.
  • The stream sets language and education minimums on top of the points: Ontario's 2026 update lists CLB 6 (CLB 5 for certain occupations) and a post-secondary degree or diploma for the TEER 0 to 3 pathway.
  • If you are invited, you must document every scoring factor you claimed. Scoring factors are separate from the stream criteria, and you must meet both.

Ontario PNP questions

What happened to the other OINP streams?

Ontario removed its eight former streams on June 25, 2026, withdrew the EOIs and job offers registered under them, and opened the Ontario Workforce Priority stream's EOI portal on August 4, 2026. Applications already submitted after an invitation under a former stream are still assessed under the old rules.

Which factors carry the most points?

Ontario work experience in the job offer position (up to 18), the hourly wage (up to 15), language (up to 15) and the work region (up to 15). Employment and labour market factors together are worth 70 of the 130 points.

Has Ontario published draw scores for the new stream?

Not as of October 2, 2026. The 2026 updates page records the portal opening on August 4 but no invitation rounds. This page will show the score ranges once Ontario publishes them.

Do I need my employer to do anything before I register?

Yes. Your employer registers in the Employer Portal and submits a job offer for your position, which gives you the job offer ID you need to register an EOI within 30 calendar days. If you are invited, the employer then has 14 calendar days to apply for approval of the employment position, and that approval is needed for your nomination to be approved.

Can I be nominated through Express Entry?

If your job offer is in TEER 0 to 3, or you are a self-employed physician, you can choose nomination through Express Entry, which adds 600 CRS points once you accept it in your IRCC account within 30 days.

The Score Is Not the Nomination

Stream eligibility, documents and timing decide more than the points. We check all three before you register an expression of interest.
