Part 1 of 5
The B.C. job offer
Wage and location are worth 80 of the 200 points, and the wage decides whether a wage-based round applies to you at all.
Part 2 of 5
Your experience
Directly related means the same NOC as the job offer, or a related occupation at the same or higher TEER that you can show is directly related.
Part 3 of 5
Education
Only your highest completed credential counts. Programs must be longer than six months, and Canadian distance education does not qualify.
Part 4 of 5
Language
Points use your lowest ability across listening, speaking, reading and writing, from a test taken in the last two years.
Part 5 of 5
Family income
Not a points factor, but a requirement. Your wage must cover the minimum for your family size and where you will live.
2026 invitation rounds
The BC PNP no longer runs one general draw. It invites by category: Innovate rounds for high-wage TEER 0 to 3 jobs, either by wage threshold or by score, and Care and Build rounds for priority health, childcare, education, veterinary and construction occupations.

Skilled Worker stream basics
- A full-time, indeterminate job offer from an eligible B.C. employer in a TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 occupation, at a wage in line with industry standards.
- At least two years of full-time skilled work experience (TEER 0 to 3) in the last ten years, in Canada or abroad. This is separate from the directly related experience that earns points.
- CLB 4 in all four abilities for a TEER 2 or 3 job. No test is required for a TEER 0 or 1 job unless you claim language points.
- Family income at or above the minimum for your family size and where you live in B.C. A spouse's B.C. wage can count.
- Legal status in Canada if you are already here, and the qualifications, licensing or certification the job needs.
- An employer that is established in B.C., has recruited locally, has a genuine need for the position, and signs the employer declaration.
| Family size | Metro Vancouver | Rest of B.C. |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | $31,264 | $26,057 |

Common questions about BC PNP points
Do I need a job offer to register?
Yes. The Skilled Worker stream needs a full-time, indeterminate job offer from a B.C. employer in a TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 occupation, and the employer must meet the program's own requirements. A short list of occupations can use a limited-term offer of at least one year, and some occupations are not eligible at all.
What score do I need to be invited?
There is no fixed pass mark. The BC PNP runs targeted rounds. Points-based Innovate rounds in 2026 invited from 131 to 138. Care and Build rounds for priority health, childcare, education, veterinary and construction occupations invited from 68 to 115, depending on the occupation and the month. Wage-based Innovate rounds ignore the score and invite everyone in a TEER 0 to 3 job above a wage threshold.
Is there still an International Graduate or Entry Level stream?
The Skills Immigration Program Guide effective June 10, 2026 lists three routes: the Skilled Worker stream, the Health Authority stream, and a temporary rural and remote health support initiative for health authority cleaners and security staff. The International Graduate and Entry Level and Semi-Skilled streams do not appear in the current guide.
How much does the wage matter?
More than any other single factor. Every dollar between $16 and $70 an hour is one point, up to 55. Wage-based rounds skip the score entirely, with thresholds between $52 and $70 an hour in 2026. The BC PNP refuses applications where it believes a wage was inflated for the score.
What is the Express Entry BC option?
If you also qualify for a federal Express Entry program, you can register with the BC PNP using your Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code. A nomination through that option adds 600 points to your CRS score and your permanent residence application goes through Express Entry, which is usually faster.
How is this different from the rural pilot calculator?
The BC PNP is a province-wide program run by British Columbia with its own registration pool. The Rural Community Immigration Pilot is a federal pilot run through specific communities, with a job offer from a designated employer and a community recommendation. Some people qualify for both. The scoring grids are completely different.
