How MPNP scores you
The EOI ranking system applies to the Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas pathways and the International Education Stream. Recent draws have been occupation-specific, with separate francophone and Manitoba-graduate selections.

Recent Manitoba draws
MPNP draws select by occupation, French ability, Manitoba study or a strategic initiative, and publish the lowest ranking score only for some selections. A score from one selection does not apply to another.

What the points do not cover
- Every candidate must have at least one connection to Manitoba. The adaptability factor scores the strongest one.
- Work experience counts only in full years of full-time work (30 hours a week or more) for an employer you worked for at least six months, within the last five years. Do not round up.
- Second-language points need a valid test showing CLB 5 or higher in your weaker official language.
- An EOI is valid for one year, you may hold only one, and false information can bring a two-year ban.
- Candidates planning to settle outside Winnipeg must show a convincing connection to that region at application time.
Manitoba PNP questions
What score do I need for a Manitoba draw?
There is no fixed cutoff. Recent draws selected by occupation group or a Manitoba connection and published different lowest scores: 760 for natural and applied sciences occupations on September 24, 2026, 825 for Manitoba graduates on September 10, 731 for technical trades on August 27, and 632 for manufacturing occupations on July 30. Many selections in the same draws had no published score at all.
Why is adaptability worth so much?
Manitoba weights connection to the province above everything else. Ongoing Manitoba employment with a long-term job offer, or an invitation under a strategic initiative, is 500 points on its own. A close relative in Manitoba is 200. Without any connection you cannot submit an EOI.
How is language scored?
Each ability is scored separately: 25 points per band at CLB 8 or higher, down to 12 at CLB 4 and nothing at CLB 3. A valid test at CLB 5 or higher in your second official language adds 25.
Do connections to other provinces really cost points?
Yes. Work experience in another province and studies in another province each deduct 100 points. A close relative elsewhere in Canada or a previous application to another province must be declared but does not deduct points.
How long is an EOI valid?
One year from submission. You can hold only one active EOI at a time, and you can update it if your situation changes. Providing false information can lead to a two-year ban.
